This image was taken this morning while walking my dogs in the park, using a Canon PowerShot G-10.
The image, in itself, isn’t that striking. What is amazing to someone like me that grew up taking photos with a Kodak Brownie Hawkeye camera in black & white, is that I could casually snap the photo, develop it and adjust it on my computer, and share it with friends and relatives around the world in less than an hour and at almost zero cost.
We tend to take miracles like this for granted. It’s almost as if we think things have always been this way, or that we are somehow ‘entitled’ to this life style. They haven’t, and we are not.
On one of the podcasts that I listen to regularly, a guest author mentioned that when we open the refrigerator door at night our kitchens are illuminated with more light than was available in a whole house 150 years ago.
Although it may not feel like it at times, we are truly blessed, and should be thankful for all the comfort, beauty, and experience that fills our lives daily, if we slow down long enough to notice it.
